Eclipse will host an upcoming IDMP Webinar: What you need to know about the July 2016 deadline, featuring panelist, Dr. Dieter Schlaps on December 10th, 2015 at 2:00PM EST. The webinar will address the EMEAs timeline for IDMP in a phased approach for implementation. Dr. Schlaps will be discussing the timelines and the proposed first iteration data fields. Also provided will be a worksheet for mapping your enterprise data to the prioritized fields to help kick start your IDMP initiative. The webinar will discuss why IDMP is crucial and how Health Authorities worldwide claim that despite the clear progress in the development of increasingly specific and complex drugs, there is an alarming steady increase in adverse reactions leading to large numbers of casualties around the globe. The FDA has recently published numbers that show there have been more than 700,000 emergency visits, more than 100,000 hospitalizations and around 100,000 deaths per year due to adverse events alone in the US. This is just one of the topics that will be discussed in the webinar for reasons why IDMP – as the future single source of truth – is so crucial for the mapping of terminologies used in the different health care systems worldwide and the cross-border identifiability of medicinal products and their components.
